Is it hobby time for you YET??

It’s strange, we don’t encourage our kids to pursue a hobby for life, as much as we pursue them to excel in school studies / in a particular sport.

A hobby is a very freeing activity!

One can’t call a sport, a ‘hobby’ if the parents are pressuring the kids to excel at it.

A hobby has a very light hearted, JOY centric feel to it, which is FREEing in many ways. It allows the individual to break free from whatever routine they are following.

It’s a gateway to a happy place, which makes it easy for the person to survive the routine..

A hobby can be a saviour!!

And if one pursues it regularly enough, one can easily excel at it!!

As parents, we can imbibe the culture of pursuing a hobby, in our kids. And the simplest way to do it???

Do it yourself first!!

Children follow our actions more than our words. If we be the example to them, they will surely follow!!

Not that the current generation needs hobbies. They are just too aware of what they like n dislike. They may not even go through the struggle of a routine..

Then for who is this post intended to???

Hahaha!! To us.

And if you’re reading this, know that you stumbled upon this write for a reason.

Your hobby hasn’t given up on you! It’s waiting for you, and will hold your hand tight if you just let it..

what say??

Is it hobby time yet???

PS: can’t thank my hobby of writing enough. It has been my saviour through all the lows of my life.

Blogging/ creatively writing/ journaling /doodling/ colouring, as long as there is a pen and a paper with me, il be in safe hands..

What about you??

Staying Midway

When torn in between two extremes, what can one do?

Stay midway!!

Crimson depicts the colour of the root chakra, signifying our survival and life on earth.

Mauve (actually it’s Violet) stands here for our connection with the divine , which is our very purpose behind being here.

What does one do when one is torn between the reason for existence n the existence itself??

Hang in there??

This art piece signifies the dilemma n the victory of staying midway!!

The left side is the crimson, signifying the role on earth.. it is denser, as it’s the foundation for our survival..

As we move towards the right, the tree n leaves move into a creeper, lighter n lighter..the purple signifying our non physical aspect..

and we choose to exist midway, (I choose to, for now, till I find some solution) which is where the flowers grow..

The significance of the bright green colour is it is the color of the heart chakra. Our heart chakra is located exactly midway between the root chakra (red) n the crown chakra (Violet)

It’s so evident, of my choice!! My choice of being midway shows in my open heart.

It also happens to be dominating my personality energetically! Green happens to be my fav colour (a reason why my studio wall is painted green, can be seen behind the painting)

This painting will mostly adore the walls of a restaurant! N even though it’s a business that sells n serves food, at its heart is a divine purpose, of serving the hungry ..

I find this piece perfect for the restaurant!! Hoping the owner finds it apt too 🙂

Three words? Wanna play?

What if you had to describe the crux of your life in three words??

Would you find those three words that did justice to a life that you call ‘yours’??

It was easy to find three words that described the richness of life for me!

I have a list of stuff that makes me happy. And all of the items on the list seem to be connected to these three words.

1. Art!!!

My love for art, is thanks to the depth that it adds to my life.

I may have not been an avid reader, yet writing has been my saviour: the one that gave me courage when life seemed hollow.

Movies give such an added dimension to life. As if you have travelled the world in the shoes of a stranger.

Music, plays, paintings or be it any art ! It simply allows us to connect with the creator within.

2. Family!

If not for my family, I would never have felt grounded to this planet. Perhaps I would be travelling the globe like a nomad who knows nothing of his roots.

My family is my biggest gift 🎁 and every time that I imagine my dreamy life, my family is right there, as if they were an extension of me (n they are)

3. Oneness!!

It’s this deep feeling of oneness that soothed me as I stared at the royal mountains in Auli, or listened to the gurgling sounds of the bhagirathi.. my trip to auli has been the trip that I most frequently go back to in my head n heart..

It’s this same feeling that takes me over when I’m in nature, with flowers or birds…traveling in an unknown country, getting to know the culture of the people there..

It’s like all of us are deeply connected by this beauty of it all..
