When the Genie arrives, All I think of is a Cheese Wrap :)

Do you know your 3 wishes that you wanna share with Genie? Have you thought about your dream life?

We are limiting ourselves by the hour, putting a cap on our own potential, pulling ourselves down all the time. So when ever we are asked to dream big, all we can think of is something trivial. Very few know for sure, that they have potential. Rest have it but fail to believe..

What is it, that you will reach out to achieve- If you are told that you have special powers?

No one believes me here!! WE ALL HAVE SPECIAL POWERS 🙂

We all have special powers- Believing in oneself is a special power, believing in the infinite possibilities is a special power!!

Seeing special powers in others and helping them see it for themselves is a special power!!

What do you believe about yourself? What’s your idea of ‘Dream Big’ ? What are your SPECIAL POWERS?

Dare to Share??????

With infinite gratitude

And can we have a big round of applause for…..

Any guesses for who? I know, my reader friends must be saying this loud in their heads – Shraddha Trasi has gone crazy!! Reading her blog, il also reach this hall of craze!! Its alright people!! Its not necessary for anyone to agree with me.I write to express and not to impress. And you know what ? I feel very happy when i express what goes on in my head.

Knowing myself, the ‘Shraddha’ ive known for so many years, id never ever, even dream of inviting so many people to come and read my blog. So im gonna applaud myself for being courageous enough to dare n share my blog with so many people! Thats about me!!

What about you? What is that one thing, you wanna so desperately acknowledge yourself for?

Our culture and traditions, stress upon us the importance of being down to earth, having our feet on the ground, developing a sense of humility and never letting success go to our heads and so on. It is important that we always keep ourselves grounded but not at the cost of unallowing ourselves to fly!!

Whats the point im making here?! Are we trying to be the ideal, humble down to earth individual, by – NOT ACKNOWLEDGING our self? Why?

Acknowledging is simply looking at our strengths in the eye!! Is that very tough to do?  Does that mean there’s a gr8 sense of pride sabotaging us badly if we give in n acknowledge ourself?

Come on friends, if we dont acknowledge ourselves, why do we expect people around us to do it for us? We feel hurt if our appraisals dont come up as expected or if we dont get that statement of appreciation coming from one of our friends/ boss/ spouse/ family…and so on!! Now where is our sense of humility? Gone for a full toss?

I always felt bad, when i did something commendable and wasnt given the credit for it!! It wud hit my efficiency and effectiveness very badly for the next week or maybe even the next few weeks!!

Lets pause here for a second- What if i acknowledged myself for the commendable action by celebrating it -in any small way, by doing something i luv to do, like watching sum movie or eating my fav dessert or splurging in sum shopping !! Woww- i dont think it wud have such a negative effect like the former case!

Why should we wait for others to pat on our back? Come on guys!! We can very well do it, n in a much better way!!

Just 2 days back, i was very very impressed by this young star – who had shared with me his blog!! He writes extremely well and what i really appreciated about him was the way he had acknowledged himself thru the title of his blog!!

I really loved the blog title – ustadchinoy.blogspot.com!!  Wow!! Really awesome!! I felt amazed and i wrote back to him saying i luv the way you have acknowledged yourself!! Really gr8 Chinoy!! Keep up this spirit!!

When was the last time, we did this to ourself? Cant remember!! Chalo koi nahin!! Its never too late to begin!!

So friends!! What r we waiting for!! I invite each one of you to please acknowledge urself for whatever you feel is commendable and worth the celebration!!

And so can we have a big round of applause for…………………………

Kya Daag Achhe Hain? Are Stains really good?

Please excuse me if ive brought to your notice yet another ad & the deep underlying stuff that i see in a few seconds of footage 🙂

I remember, Surf Excel, one of the leading detergent manufacturers came up with this new idea of “Daag Achhe Hain!!” -which means in Hindi- Stains are Good!! And the ad primarily focusses on how a kid,(on knowing that his school teacher is absent at school cuz she has lost her pet) visits his teachers house, and attempts everything possible to make her smile!! Finally he starts playing around in mud, like a pup, soiling his clothes big time.. just so that his teacher smiles 😊

OMG, what an awesome concept!! The happy go lucky attitude of this 8 or 9 yr old, who cares a darn about anything else but his teachers smile, is brought into spotlight for promoting what?? A detergent brand that promotes stains 🙂

What if each one of us had this happy go lucky attitude?? And what if we also saw the stains in positive light, and looked forward to the fun that causes them in the very first place?

In Coaching, we call this as reframing of perspectives!!

It’s like why worry about the stains?? Lets just enjoy the rain, guys!!

Sounds cliched but that is exactly what it means when they say “Failure is a stepping stone to Success”

Lets just try this out!! Lets say this statement 5 to 8 times ” WOWWW !!  I FAILED !!”

The 2 words just dont seem to go together!!  Ok!! now lets read this n see if it makes any sense!!

Woww!! I failed!! Cant believe it na, i really failed!! After preparing for an entire year I failed to get a decent GRE Score !! It was really awesome!! Thank god i failed that day in December 2006, else i would ve been a Civil Engineer with a MS Degree, from some supercool university in the US,totally stuck up in the wrong profession!!

Wowww!!! I Failed!!!

Does that make any sense now??

Every “Not so happy” outcome of our life has a brighter side!! Think about it..

The player who cud not make that one run to cheer his team to a win, the student who scored few marks less and missed that first class, or a dyslexic kid who ended up flunking in all his papers – not necessarily all of them screwed up their life, unless they really intended to….

If each one of us, dumps our worrisome hat & just views each situation as a lesson learned, our life will be so much more light!!

Are we carrying the baggage of our failures, hating ourselves, each time we remember about things that went wrong in our life?  The various so called blunders that we make at work are not meant to make our own life hell friends!! Maybe the lives of our bosses 🙂  on a lighter note 🙂

So the next time we catch ourselves getting worried / upset at the outcome of any crappy situation, lets just celebrate our happy go lucky attitude by saying out loud – Daag Achhe Hain!!

N Dont forget to buy a packet of Surf Excel on your way back home, as a token of gratitude towards the creation of this beautiful ad 🙂
